Races mark sports day celebrations
Mohali, December 5
Students of Genius Public School, Sector 69, Mohali, celebrated the annual sports day with great enthusiasm and zeal.
The tiny tots participated in various races like back race, Tom and Jerry race and flat race. Students of the senior wing also participated in the races like page finding race, 100 m race, spoon/potato race, frog race, back race, book balancing race and one-legged race.
The other events were kho-kho, badminton and football.

Genius Public School, Sector 69, organised its annual sports day on the school grounds here today. Tiny tots participated in various events like back race, Tom and Jerry race and flat race.
Other events included kho-kho, badminton and football.
Winners of junior wing are:
Tom and Jerry race (boys): Ishworjot 1, Jitiesh 2 and Anmolpreet 3.
Girls: Lavanya 1, Brinda 2 and Samiksha 3. Flat race (boys): Jaskaran 1, Karanpreet 2 and Armaanpreet 3.
Girls: Pranchi 1, Suman 2 and Sharan 3.
Back race (boys): Meekain 1, Chiranjeev 2 and Raman Gupta 3. 100m race (girls): Savita 1, Jiya 2 and Sukhdeep 3.
Winners of senior wing are:
100m flat race (boys): Lal Babu 1, Nitin 2 and Rishabh 3.
Page finding race (girls): Parneet 1, Meenakshi 2 and Gursimrat 3.
Three-legged race (boys): Aaneesh1, Simranjeet, Amanpreet and Chirag 2 and Harkaranjit and Karanbir 3.
Spoon potato race (girls): Muskan 1, Simranpreet 2 and Amandeep 3.
Back race (boys): Achint 1, Opinder, Jashan 2 and Parth 3.
Book balancing race (girls): Kirandeep 1, bhavya 2 and Simarjeet 3. Badminton match: Puneet and Jaspreet, Muskan and Naman. Kho-kho match (girls): Harleen 1, Tamanna 2 and Manpreet 3.

Rakhi celebrated
Mohali, August 1
Genius Public School, Sector 69, Mohali, celebrated “Raksha Bandhan” with great enthusiasm. On the occasion, a rakhi-making competition was held in which students from classes III to VIII made rakhis.
The students who won prizes in the competitions included Harpreet Kaur, Gagan Bhavya, Harmanpreet and Anjali of class III; Priyanka, Manpreet Kaur and Tamanna of class IV; Gargi, Roopneet Kaur, Avneet and Birinder of class V; Anchal, Simranpreet Kaur, Hempreet Kaur, Angali and Mandeep Kaur of classes VII and VIII.

Lohri celebrated with traditional fervour
Mohali, January 12
Rising flames of bonfire, colourful attires, giddha, bhangra, dandiya, peanuts and varieties of sweets marked the celebration of Lohri at Genius Public School, Sector 69, Mohali. The students sang “Sunder mundriye”. Lohri folk songs, dance items and giddha performances charmed the occasion.
